Preparations for Winter

I can tell that winter is coming and between that and mitten talk among friends I was moved to begin knitting a pair of mittens for myself, as I have cold hands all the time in winter. Faeroe Island Mittens from Folk Mittens. I love colorwork mittens. It is a small enough project that it does not take forever, and I can get tired of a sweaters worth of colorwork. Yarn is un-labeled random handspun from my stash. I think the dark might be corriedale and the while might be dorset but who knows?
I am enjoying making them immensely.
